The Atomic Backland 89 SL W is a superlight, all-around touring ski for women who seek uphill agility and endless downhill possibility. A result of a scientific life cycle assessment, Atomic has created a ski with a lower-impact design to reduce material-based CO2 equivalent emissions by 30% (compared with the Backland 85, 2021) without sacrificing an ounce of performance. The construction uses more wood, less fiberglass and resin, and waste-reducing sidewalls for a light, stronger, profile that thrives in any terrain.

All-Terrain Profile changes the thickness curve, torsional stiffness, and flex pattern to create a highly versatile ski shape. A caruba and poplar UltraLight Woodcore combined with a stabilizing Carbon Backbone adds powerful downhill performance. The wider 89mm waist and the uniquely beveled HRZN 3D tip offers more float in deeper snow. For the ultimate touring set up, pair with an Atomic PreFit skin.
