The lightweight Black Diamond ATC Pilot represents an advance in technology for the world of assisted braking devices in indoor and sport climbing. Providing an added level of security to your belay, the ATC Pilot thread similar to other tubular belay devices (like ATC, ATC Guide, Reverso, etc) and accommodates single ropes from 8.7-10.5mm. The durable steel braking-surface has no moving parts, and the smooth and secure control allows for gradual lowering of the climber. Paying out rope is easy and comfortable. In case of a fall the ATC Pilot blocks the rope automatically. Subsequently unblocking the rope is a no brainer. The ATC Pilot makes life easier for both belayer and climber and above all safer.
